Insurance Law

The firm represents clients in matters involving autism spectrum disorder and other medical and mental health concerns. We represent provider clients in payment disputes, audits, investigations involving insurers, administrations, and state and federal government agencies. We further represent healthcare providers and policyholders/insureds in a wide variety of disputes concerning denied healthcare coverage, including medical necessity denials and denials that may violate state and federal mental health parity laws, state autism insurance mandates, and other laws.

Autism Advocacy Groups

We work with many advocacy organizations and others in the autism and mental health community. Among other things, we speak frequently to large and small groups to help educate healthcare providers and those they serve. We also regularly refer providers and families to advocacy groups, programs, and other resources where it may be appropriate.

Health Care Law

We work with healthcare providers to improve practice management, including documentation, billing, and compliance, and to improve how proctices address payer requirements while aligning with providers’ unique business models. Among other things, we assist providers in performing internal auditing and monitoring and creating and implementing individualized performance improvement plans. In the event of an audit, investigation, or recoupment, we work with providers to respond, to challenge results where appropriate, appropriate and to reach resolution.
