Lake Manyara Lodge
The compact game-viewing circuit ensures the best viewing opportunities. The forest is home to baboons and blue monkeys that scamper between the mahogany trees, as well as bushbuck and forest hornbills. Across the flood plains, buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, and giraffe congregate to graze, and the acacia woodland is the favored haunt of Manyara's famous tree-climbing lions and large-tusked elephants. Black rhino are often seen, and leopards are commonly sighted in the early morning or late evening. Manyara is noted for its wealth of birdlife - more than 400 species have been recorded, and a first-time visitor may spot over 100 in a single day. At times, the lake is visited by thousands of pink flamingos, as well as pelicans, cormorants, and storks.
