In loving memory of Dexter Scott King, a beacon of strength, justice, and empowerment. As the youngest son of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King, Dexter had an unforgettable impact on civil rights.
The DuSable mourns the loss of a genuine activist and compassionate leader. May his legacy continue to inspire and guide us. Rest in power, Dexter Scott King.
In 2022, over Juneteenth weekend, The DuSable Museum of African American
History embarked on a transformative journey after more than 60 years, marking
a new era as The DuSable Black History Museum and Education Center.
The new name serves as a powerful reiteration of our commitment to educate all
people about Black history, culture, and experiences. It also acknowledges the
rich tapestry of global connections and diverse cultures among Black people
across the Diaspora.
