Chatroulette’s clones

You only need Internet, a pc and a webcam to connect. The page of Chatroulette has two windows, your own and the other one that searches random between millions of users connected from around the world.
To change your chat-partner you just have to click on ‘’next’’ or ‘’search’’ and immediately find another one to videochat with.
Chatroulette was born on November 2009, and it already counts one million people in the U.S., mostly young and 75% of them leave their contacts wilfully after few seconds.
Differently from other social networks, it allows its users to ‘’surf channel ‘’ easily, quickly and blindly between all the users of the chat.

Enter the chatroulettes’ world!

Original Chatroulette: a service of videochat very popular on the web, it is the phenomenon of the moment

Freedom or total control?

After Sony is Sega the new victim of hackers. The Japanese video game giant has confirmed that personal data of more than 1.29 million registered users were stolen by a hacker attack against the website of the European branch in London a few days ago. It's "Sega Pass", says a statement from the company, in which they exclude the fact that the hackers copied the credit card numbers of the users. The company apologizes for any inconvenience caused to customers and announced to have commenced an investigation.

The theme of the security and the privacy on the net is one of the hottest and quite all sites have to face it.

The web is freedom... are we sure?

Facebook lost users, leaving 6 million

In the U.S. and Canada, Facebook, the prince of social networks, began to falter. In May, the number of users reduced by 6 million people in the United States, from 155,200,000 at the beginning of the month to 1,489,400,000  at the end. And the trend is similar in neighboring Canada, according to Inside Facebook, the specialized blog that follows step by step the social network of Mark Zuckerberg.
Overall, things continue to go well for Facebook, with nearly 700 million users worldwide, while there are more voices than one about a new entry in the stock exchange next year, with an IPO that could generate revenues of up to 100 billion dollars. On Zuckerberg is still pending a large uncertainty, because the action of the rowers, Winklevoss twins, Cameron and Tyler, could end up in the coming months in front of the U.S. Supreme Court. As the movie The Social Network tells, the two claim to have been cheated by Zuckerberg who offered them $ 65 million in 2008.
But it's also true that Cameron and Tyler had accepted the sum at the time, only to realize that it was a really low amount of money, just seen the value of Facebook. While Facebook started to hear the first tunes of crisis, social network like Twitter and LinkedIn continue to pull, even in the United States. Twitter, in particular, became number two in the U.S., Britain, Germany, France and Australia. According to industry experts, Facebook is starting to saturate the U.S. market, where opportunities for growth now appear to be very low: for this reason it is suggested to Zuckerberg to turn more and more to European and Asian markets, with ample room for growth potential . Part of the phenomenon of slowing U.S. and Canada, however, is considered seasonal. In early summer many students are erased from the social network, embarrassing to leave no traces on the web (booze and parties, for example), which could compromise the search for a first job. So there are pressures of the parents of underage students, worried about the protection of privacy or for bullying, more and more common in the U.S., linked to social networks.

Catching Her Attention

Somewhere in all the weird, funny, clever, mad, talented and deranged people you get thrown together with by Chatroulette, there comes a long a woman. And you want her to stay in that chat window a bit longer. Because at the end of the day, that is why a guy logs on there, no?

What might extend your chat to more than 1 minute: Look nice. No need for black tie, a clean t-shirt will do.
What might extend it to more than 2 minutes: look interested. Some of you just look like your already asleep. Eye-contact, guys, eye-contact.
More than 3 minutes: Have something better as opening than “What’s up with you!”
More than 4 minutes: be funny. Laughing makes bonds.
More than 5: Be George Clooney. Go for the stars!
More than 6: Not even George manages that.

And whatever happens: do not despair. Because yes, they may be a rare commodity as already pointed out in Toro Magazine back from before the nudist tidal chat wave hit last year, Chatroulette is still as good a place as any to start.

Brave or unconscious?

I can't believe she did it for real!

An unknow holland woman wanted a ''social tattoo'' and got it. 152 faces, friends of her on Facebook, are now on her arm. She made a video and post it on YouTube getting more than 300000 displays.

susyj87, this is her nick on YouTube, declared: "These are not all my friends. Just the people I care most about. I got their permission and they were very proud to be on it. To me it represents who I am right now and the time we live in. And of course I love the looks of it".

Look at the video and tell me, is she brave, or just unconcious?
