The Dramatherapy Network

The Dramatherapy Network was founded by:

Prof Sue Jennings and Dr Andy Hickson

It is a resource for dramatherapists all over the world.

In this site you will find details of courses, links to other related organisations, and theatre in education. We will also update our Newsletter regularly, which you can of course contribute to by contacting us. Part time workshops for trainee TIE workers and Dramatherapists available around the site, please contact us for more information.

You might want to find out how Dramatherapy has developed, and where Dramatherapy archives can be found or where you can get Dramatherapy Training on a variety of courses, all over the UK.

The 2015 International Transform With Action Tour to Asia. This is a limited tour of South East Asia and will include the following countries: Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, China and Taiwan.

There is a lot of information about Dramatherapy available on the internet, that can be found on a variety of Search Engines.

The information available here is not exhaustive, but it is a great starting point. If you have a good dramatherapy site that you would like to tell us about, then please do write to us, and we will endeavour to post the information here.

We will be putting together a Newsletter that you may contribute to. This newsletter will also have regular items from Prof Sue Jennings and Dr Andy Hickson.

Gordon Wiseman Gordie Wiseman

As some of you may know, the theatre world recently lost a very precious person by the name of Gordon Wiseman. He was a creative man of many talents. A brilliant actor and singer, Gordie was also one of the early pioneers of Dramatherapy. These pages hold a few tributes to this caring, sharing and peace loving man.

Sue Jennings Archive Dr Sue Jennings has been one of the leading pioneers of Dramatherapy throughout the world and has help set up many national Dramatherapy Associations.

Exeter University has an extensive archive of papers on Dr Sue Jennings. More details can be found HERE.

Trafficking Dramatherapy and action methods are used in Japan. CHARM, a Japanese NGO has used 'action' to help traffiked women. More can be found here:

Legal Protection for Whom? Asian People Together was formed in 1995 to "surface the reality of trafficking" of women to Japan and the fact that Japanese laws do not protect its victims. Its goal is to see the passage of an anti-trafficking law by the Japanese Diet such as exists in other industrialized nations. In December 2002, Japan signed the UN Convention against Transnational Organized Crime and the UN Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children. Since then, the Japanese government has argued -- as it did after signing the earlier Convention on the Rights of the Child -- that its existing laws fulfill its obligations. Yet the enforcement of Japanese law is aimed at protecting society and businesses rather than victims of trafficking and forced prostitution..... More

Al-Harah Theatre Formally INAD (stubborn) Theatre AL-HARAH Theater is working towards creating the first theater college in Palestine. By promoting theater arts in Palestine we assist in building a civil society that emphasizes human rights, democracy and pluralism, was established in 1987 and is based in the West Bank town of Beit Jala.
