8-bit Theater 20th Anniversary Script Books GET ‘EM WHILE THEY’RE HOT

People begged me for twenty years to make a print edition of 8-bit Theater but it was kind of impossible because of all the, y’know, massive copyright crimes. So what we did was this: I typed out every single line of dialog for every single page and then added panel descriptions with full commentaries, new jokes, and new typos! There are over 406,000 words. That’s less than The Bible but it’s much funnier. If you missed the original Kickstarter campaign, don’t worry, because you can grab a copy now through Pledge Manager.

This thing is huge, by the way.
THE BEAST
The Limited Edition is NINE POUNDS.

What secrets are inside? A book!

And prints!

And these amazing pins designed by Hannako.

There are tons of other add-ons available too from Atomic Robo to Arise, Ye Skeleton King. This project nearly killed our designer, then nearly killed me, but it is finally ready for delivery! Check it out!

You nerds might enjoy this

For Zinequest this year I’m doing a little something called 8-BIT THEATER THE ROLEPLAYING GAME WHERE YOU’RE THE LIGHT WARRIORS GETTING ISEKAI’D TO SAVE A BUNCH OF WORLDS BUT IT ALWAYS GOES WRONG BECAUSE THEY ARE REAL BAD AT THIS.

Or, simply, 8BTTRPGWYTLWGITSABOWBIAGWBTARBAT for short.

The gameplay loop is simple. When Light Warriors Do Things they will eventually cause Collateral Damage that makes everything around them so much worse, so they’ve got to Do More Things to work around The Horrible Consequences they’ve inflicted upon the world, but this is literally a vicious cycle that inevitably leads to realizing Oh Ye Gods What Hath We Wrought.

TLDR the game is tuned to encourage you to do terrible/stupid things that will almost always backfire so you can spend most of your time laughing at one another. Honestly, I’m not sure if it’s feasible to “win” but we made it so failure is fun and hilarious the whole time so who cares.

Hey, look at this book I wrote

Hello, weirdos and freaks who still visit this website! Thought you might want to know I wrote a whole new danged novel?!?!?

You can grab ebooks through our online store, or itch.io, or Amazon, or join our Patreon where we’ll be serializing a new chapter every month!

Check out the cover below and maybe even read the first chapter. Amazing!

BAD MOONS RISING cover featuring our main characters in a hover car being pursued by very fascist cops!

Hey, look at this old thing I’m working on

You know how you asked me for a print version of 8-bit Theater? Well, here is the 20th Anniversary Do Not Sue edition. Enjoy!

Hey, look at this new thing I’m working on

You ever get a hankerin’ to read about a dysfunctional band of “heroes” who are the main problem that needs to be stopped before it dooms the whole kingdom?

Oh, I’m sorry, how embarrassing. Did you think I was talking about the classic webcomic 8-bit Theater?

You fool. You absolute moron.

No, I’m talking about the all-new sensation…

Our main characters are a lovable troupe of circus performers who are actually petty criminals using their circus to distract slack-jawed rubes from being pickpocketed for a few days until the troupe disappears in the night before they’re suspected of wrongdoing. And then they start the scam all over again in the next village!

ARISE, YE SKELETON KING is the story of how that scheme goes bad, then goes real good, and then nearly brings about a new age of doom and death.

If you’re the kind of trash goblin who loves a story about other trash goblins who catastrophe their way straight to the top — and if you’re reading this then sorry to say, yeah, you are — then this is the story for you!

It’s written by me and ATOMIC ROBO editor Lee Black, drawn by Escher Cattle, and lettered by Tess Stone. We’re running a Kickstarter for the first chapter. It’ll get you 40 pages of bickering jerks plus lots of other goodies. Check out the vid, our rewards, the stretch goals, you know the drill.
