QOTD: Love syrah, but haven’t had a lot of luck finding good examples. My first experience with syrah was by Miner. Very big, earthy, yet not over the top wine.

I saved this episode in my email box until work quieted down so I could watch it all at once. I heartily agree with Heidi about Syrah. It is what I am drinking the most of currently.

What is that glass that Gary uses anyway? Looks like the Riedel Burgundy Grand Cru but not exactly…anybody knows?

QOTD: (from my understanding Syrah and Shiraz are the same grape, im newly in love with wine so dont thrash me to hard if im mistaken about this) That said. Syrah/Shiraz have been great and a let down for me. The first bottle that really made me interested in Shiraz was a Penfolds Bin 389 04'. Then i had the chance to drink a Dead Arm 98' I was in love with it! So with high hopes a week later, i popped the cork on a Clarendon Hills Moritz 04', it tasted complex and i got a sense that it might be a special expression, but it was sweet and wet tasting, it just left me like “blah $50”. Would love to hear some more seasoned drinkers thoughts about this.

it’s a legend !!! And the wine that she makes is … hard to describe is haven in wine simply ! And so many people are reaching for her wine , and now this interview is amazing and we see her still going and being the best that awesome keep going and make good wine for the Americans
