SSA - Chesapeake Soling Fleet – Spring Series

The Chesapeake Soling Fleet kicked off the 2024 sailing season with the Severn Sailing Association Spring Series on April 13-14. The Solings are back to Rio

This past weekend the RYC (Rio Yacht Club celebrated their 110 anniversary with a single race and a big party, where 6 Solings, 4 from the local club, one from the ICRJ , and one from Iate Clube Brasileiro (oldest yacht club in Brazil). Solings in Bergen, Norway

Bergen on the west coast of Norway, gateway to the fjords, has suffered from lack of Solings for years. But this is looking to change. The largest and oldest yacht club in Bergen, established 1872, held a combined Soling and Yngling Norwegian championship at their 100-year anniversary back in 1972. And following that there were both Yngling and Soling activity for some years, with a large Yngling Norwegian championship in 1982 amongst others. ARG 2 Warburg, Celedoni and Roldan winners at the SIL 2024

7 teams competed at the 2024 edition of the San Isidro Labrador sailing week past weekend, which had a great sailing day on Saturday with 14 to 9 knots of wind, three races sailed, the first race with a glitch at the weather mark while the first boats grounded while rounding, off course the one coming first (USA 853) with the hardest ground catapulting the third into first and the first into third. Season opening in Buenos Aires

This Sunday before the rain announced for the whole next week, the Club Nautico San Isidro started their Soling season, with the Summer event. Many new faces in all boats except the winning boat ARG 2 with Gustavo Warburg, Hernan Celedoni and Matias Roldan this one a traditional reserve crew coming from the 420 class. Once more the well-known team, BRA 86 from the yacht club Veleiros do Sul the organizer of the 54th edition of the Brazilian Championship was crowned after three day racing excellent participation, different wind conditions and a tight battle against BRA 78, BRA 73 and BRA 15. 2024 Soling Friendship League, February 23 – 25 Porto Alegre

This is the most fun I have had Soling racing for some time. Fantastic, exciting easy event. PRO Odecio Adam, a WS IRO, did a miraculous job at completing two round robins of 8 races each, repetage for two additional teams to join six already qualified teams for two final races Gold fleet, and one final race Silver Fleet.
