HeroFactory.com, or HeroFactory.LEGO.com, was the official website of Hero Factory. The site was managed by Kelly McKiernan. As of now, HeroFactory.com no longer exists and no longer links to LEGO.com due to the franchise being cancelled.

The Site

2010-2011

A teaser page for the website was released in May 10, 2010. It had a few features, like the Testimonials (See HeroFactory.com/Testimonials), a villain designer, and a mission creator.

The site was officially released on June 2010. It consisted of 6 sections: Products, Fun Zone, Downloads, Story, and Gallery. When the website got updated with early 2011 content, the Gallery section got replaced by the HeroPad. At the bottom of each page, except the home page, Downloads page, and the HeroPad are banners linking to various features to the site.

Home Page

The home page of the website featured links to various parts of the site. The home page also featured a statistics module, which listed the total number of missions completed, the number of heroes commissioned, and more information pertaining to Hero Factory and Makuhero City. The module's information is non-canon, as it changed everyday. The home page also featured a ticker of fan-submitted missions from the website's "Call Center". These missions are not canon, either. The weather in the background, where the Hero Factory building was shown, changed weather everyday.

When the website was updated with mid-2011 content, it added a rectangle that showed videos in the center.

Products

The Products page presented a short bio for each of the characters or vehicles that come in sets, as well as various animations and images of each set. Each product includes a link to the building instructions page, where PDF building instructions for the sets and combination models can be downloaded. It also links to each currently-available set on shop.LEGO.com and allows users to rate the sets.

Fun Zone

The Fun Zone page gave you access to all of the Hero Factory-related online games and movies on the website, and was also a place where you could create and print your own Hero Factory comics created from the HeroPad feature.

Downloads

The Downloads page contained various posters and wallpapers of many of the Heroes and the villains.

In early 2011, screensavers for the 2.0 Heroes and the Fire Villains were released.

Story

The Story page featured a brief summary of the story, and linked to several of the story-related features, such as the website's "Call Center", bios, Media Center, weapons descriptions, and comics. The Call Center allowed fans to submit imaginary missions for Hero Factory, and advertised an automated phone number that fans could also call to submit new missions. The Media Center contained brief descriptions of past Hero Factory missions, as well as the Hero Factory FM podcast. It also linked to an information page about Hero Factory.

Gallery

The Gallery page featured pictures of fans' Hero Factory creations. When the website got updated with early 2011 content, it got replaced by the HeroPad.

HeroPad

The HeroPad was a feature of the website containing several games and a code entry section, where the codes inside 2011 Hero Factory set containers could be entered to unlock prizes. It became unavailable when the website was updated with 2013 content.

2012

The Hero Factory website had a large change. Instead of Call Center calls, the weather-changing background with the Hero Factory building, and stats, there was a background with the building's Villain Storage Unit's hallway. It showed one of the Alpha 1 Team members from Episode 8: Breakout Part 1 and Episode 9: Breakout Part 2 and his assigned villain facing each other. The center of the background is the villain's location. Covering the center is a rectangle that told you the news and links to many videos, including the Hero and villain's Breakout Animations. As the year passed by, the Hero-villain pair and their location are replaced by another pair and their location from the episodes at certain points in the year. When it happened, the Hero and villains' own Breakout Animations. By the time the year ended, all six Hero-villain pairs and their locations were utilized. There are no backgrounds for Breez and Thornraxx, Nex and XT4, and Bulk and Core Hunter and their locations because they did not appear in the Breakout episodes for some reason.

On the front of the background was a rectangle that showed links to various videos and news stories. On the top was a link to an online game called Breakout, and showed a video that showed the game's content. On the bottom was a rectangle that had seven links, and they were Products, Comic Builder, Gallery, Games, News, Figure Builder, and Forums.

In the Products page, the summer 2012 sets had videos that made sounds.

Hero Factory Figure Builder

In the Fun Zone section, the replacement Hero designer for Hero Recon Team, the Figure Builder allowed you to use two different body types, (Hero and Villain, with the former being based on a small Breakout Hero's CCBS body and the latter being based on Black Phantom's), to be customized and used in the online games on HeroFactory.com. This feature was released in May 25.

2013

In December 18, 2012, there was a Brain Attack teaser. You would click on the 'Enter Code' link and type in "BrAiN", and you would see a video teasing the Brain Attack line. There was a countdown on the page, which would let you know when will you see the full release.

In January 9, 2013, the Hero Factory website had a drastic change. The Home Page had pictures of a Brain-possessed Beast on the left and his Brain Attack Hero foe on the right. Also on the left was information about the Brain Attack online game. Also on the right was information about the upcoming webisode called Episode 10: Brain Attack. The background was Makuhero City being somewhat damaged and having turned green on the left side of the background. In the bottom center, there was a red cube-shaped button with a white triangle, which acts like an arrow pointing down. When you clicked on the button, it took you another page, which is a long line that is placed vertically, spread across the page, and shows all content, which is in rectangle-shaped links. The line was styled like a timeline, as the bottom half of the line had the Breakout content and other content before it while the line's top half had the Brain Attack content. Specifically, the line links to several videos, sets, and games from both Breakout and Brain Attack. The button was on the top of the line, so when you clicked on it, it took you back to the Home Page. As the year passed, the beast and Hero get replaced by others from their own groups.

The line had five groups of the links, and they are Movies, Mobile, Games, Products, and Images. They were all sorted with yellow rectangle-like tabs on the top of the page, below the button. When you clicked on one of the tabs, it would highlight the content that the tab was representing.

On the sides of the button in the line are characters from the 2013 sets, four in each side. They are When the website got updated with summer 2013 content, the characters from the summer sets were added there. When ypu clicked on one of the characters, this would open a page for the character.

In the early 2013 version of the website, there were Scarox and Rocka. Rocka's picture was replaced by a 3D-animation model of him. When the website got updated with summer 2013 content in August 2013, Scarox and Rocka were replaced by 3D-animation models of Dragon Bolt and Surge, respectively. Surge was then replaced by a 3D-animation model of Jet Rocka in September 2013. Jet Rocka was then replaced by a 3D-animation model of Stormer in December 2013.

When the website's main page was updated with summer 2013 content, on the left of the button would tell you about new levels in the Brain Attack game. On the right of the button would tell you to watch the webisode.

2014

The Hero Factory website had another drastic change.

Home Page

This time, Makuhero City in the background was replaced by Antropolis City in March 2014. In the center of the background, there was a yellow line with five dots. Above each dot had a picture that is a link to another part of the website. To go from one dot to another, you could use left and right arrows that the picture is in between.

When the website was updated with summer 2014 content in August 2014, the city was replaced by the Jumpers' underground lair.

When the website was redesigned with early 2014 content, the Universe section had five smaller parts: Story, Battle Machines, Weapons, Canisters, and Jumpers. The Story part had ten pages: One for the Jumpers' intention in the Invasion From Below story arc, and the others are Chapters 1-9, which featured the winter sets and were about the first half of the plot of Episode 11. The Battle Machines part had information on the winter set Battle Machines. The Weapons part had information on the Heroes' weapons, both being held by hands and from the Battle Machines. The Canisters part had information on the Canisters. The Jumpers part had information on the Jumpers. The Heroes section had information on five of the seven Heroes who are featured in the winter sets. The Beasts section had information on the winter set mutated Jumper Beasts.

When the website was updated with summer 2014 content, the pictures representing the winter sets on the Battle Machines, Weapons, and Jumpers parts were replaced with pictures representing the summer sets. The Story part was updated with nine more chapters, which featured the summer sets and were about the second half of the episode's plot. The Battle Machines part was updated with information on the summer set Battle Machines, though the Evo Spider Machine was not included for some reason. The Weapons part replaced the winter set weapons with the summer set ones rather than just adding the summer set weapons for some reason.
