11th – 12th June 2012
****MIDDAY SURF UP DATE****
Hi folks and thanks again for calling by the baliwaves (since 1999) for the latest info and not to mention all the photos outta your absolute first choice tropical surfing holiday island destination of BALI.
Yesterday the 11th and I was on the road at 6.30AM heading for my families little mountain side village. Which is a 3 hr road trip and then after another 25 mins of fwd terrain, I could finally park the car and walk the remaining km. So I never really got to see anything in the waves on the West Coast. But I can say surfing conditions were truelly clean and glassy on the East side. But I’m sure you were checking the baliwaves Surf Cam anyway.
What we have done for now is loaded a photo gallery of what was happening up along the Padma St beach breaks in Legian the other morning. I have also dumped another sick surf report and photos from our friends at (the real) Kandui Surf Resort located in the Mentawai islands.
Ketut is also down on the bukit right now at Uluwatu. He has phoned through to say that there were solid head to double head high with the occasional bigger again set wave. Surfing conditions are clean and tidy with the SE Tradewind already kicking in at 10.15AM. So I guess hopefully we’ll have another truck load of material to dump on ya’s when Ketut gets back to home base.
This mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing plenty of promise for perfect waves all through out the day. Middle Reef was the pick of the best this morning with some solid head to double head high waves. If the Trade wind doesn’t get to strong Kuta Reef and Airports should be cranking later this afternoon.
This mornings G-Land Surf Report courtesy from the crew at the G-Land Surf Camp was also calling of bigger and better things to come through out the day. Plenty of straight lines peeling down through the sections on Money Tree’s, just waiting for the tide to start running back in, clean off shore wind. So hey if you want to get over to G-Land and experience the vibe at the G-Land Surf Camp contact us and we’ll help you get some discount and save you some serious dollars.
The next tide today will be a 1.6mtr High @ 3.39PM,
Weather wise we started off with a mainly blue sky with an outside temperature of 27 degree’s Celsius at 9.15AM. But now at 11.15AM it’s sitting on 28 degree’s Celsius, Humidity at 79%. Wind direction is straight East at 7-11knot.
Travel Tips:
1/ Ok boys and girls, mums and dads, this is the most important thing you need to remember when your here in Bali. Dengue Fever is a reality and spread by mosquitoes, it’s virus so you can’t take a tablet to prevent it. Here in Bali it has no discrimination as to who will fall victim. So make sure you have insect repellent with you pretty much all the time from those early morning hours and late afternoon when mozzie’s are out looking for a feed of your blood.
2/ This one is more for the boys and girls, riding motor bikes is fun right. But having a motor cycle accident is certainly not, especially when your on holidays. If you don’t ride a bike at home and if you don’t have a license stay away from them. Lately I’ve seen so many fools gassing around on them with absolutely no idea of whats going on around them it is NOT funny. Have you ever seen a hard core cycilist riding around in bare feet, no shirt or helmet ? Why ? Falling off a bike while your doing 35kmh won’t kill you (not every time anyway), but being run over by the car behind or, on coming bloody well will ! Do it easy and get a driver and travel in style.
For any of you that just want nothing more than a hassle free, get up and go surf perfect waves every morning (pending Huey), see and do what the hotel / resort sect don’t. Well we have some new surfing / accommodation packages that will have you at the right location at the right time everyday. All deals include your own photographer at no extra cost. Hit this info link to find out more. Limited space, so get in early or you’ll be doing it the hard way.
We also have a few “Home Stay” type rooms available for any of our viewers looking for some clean and tidy accommodation here in Tuban. all rooms are air conditioned, including breakfast for Rp225,000 per night, or Rp275,000 for couples. Plus 1 room that’s fan cooled for Rp150,00 per night. Surfers need to apply, party animals head for Kuta.
Feel free to contact us via email about your next trip to Bali and we might just be able to help make it run a little smoother for you.
Best Regards from Bali
