Chevelle broke the news today that their highly anticipated follow-up to 2009's 'Sci-Fi Crimes' will be coming to a store near you very soon. Their post via Facebook read:

"Hey everybody. 'Face to the Floor' will officially be our first single, and it will be released Oct. 10th to radio. We are also releasing the record on Dec. 6th. and we are looking forward to finally playing some new music on tour. We are working on a video concept right now and we will hopefully have it finished in a few weeks. See you all soon, back on tour starting Sunday."

The tour they are referring to is their opening slot for Bush on the fall tour which also features Filter. Drummer Sam Loeffler has mentioned the possibility that a duet with a female vocalist may be included with the new album, which as-of-yet has no title. The band is also working on a song for the film 'Underworld Awakening' -- the fourth installment in the vampire/werewolf series will hit theaters in January of 2012.
