BIZZARRI RECORDS - BIOGRAFIA

Etichetta indipendente e Società di Edizioni (Srl) nata a Modena nel 2010 da un gruppo di dj (Bizzarri Sound) attivi dal 2005 nella promozione di musica reggae e organizzazione di concerti e dj set,nel loro territorio, coinvolgendo sound system e artisti da tutta Italia e dalla Jamaica.

L'attività produttiva nasce insieme all'artista Lion D, con cui dal 2007 inizia una lunga collaborazione che li porta alla formazione di una band (la Livity Band con cui si esibiscono in Italia ed Europa), alla realizzazione dell'album 'The Burnin Melody' e infine all'apertura del Bizzarri Studio, uno studio di registrazione professionale presso il Centro Musica del Comune di Modena.

Grazie alla professionalità della strumentazione e dello staff che lavora al missaggio e mastering delle musiche, Bizzarri Records nel 2010 si può permettere di collaborare con la Villa Ada Crew di Roma, uno dei primi gruppi che hanno aiutato a diffondere la musica reggae in Italia negli ultimi 15 anni, pubblicando due album dei cantanti Raina e Ginko, il primo uscito ad aprile dal titolo 'Che Colpa Ne Ho' e il secondo uscito a dicembre 'Musica Ribelle'.

Insieme agli album i Bizzarri producono anche i due primi videoclip tratti dall'album di Lion D, sui singoli 'You Know That I Love You' (girato a Los Angeles con la produzione della Angel Film) e 'Nah Like The Way Deh' (girato in Giamaica da un videomaker indipendente), già in rotazione nelle televisioni musicali, il video del primo singolo di Raina 'Lire', il video del primo singolo in inglese di Fido Guido 'I Never' e i video dei singoli di Ras Tewelde 'Mama Africa' e 'You Cyaan Do Dat'

Oltre agli album di artisti i Bizzarri producono una collana di cd chiamati 'Riddim Riders'', compilation di canzoni di diversi artisti che cantano sulla stessa base, seguendo una modalità produttiva tipicamente giamaicana.
La prima compilation risale al 2007 e si chiama 'Keep The Fyah Burnin', da una canzone di Lion D di cui sono stati stampati 5 dischetti 45 giri con artisti emergenti italiani (Miss Linda, Lion D, Ras Pepi, Mulinu, Mighy Cez e Lu Marra) e internazionali (Jah Mason).
Il 2008 è la volta di altri due riddim 'Real Warrior' e 'Your Smile', usciti soltanto in 45 giri con i brani di Lion D e Miss Linda.

Nella primavera del 2010 escono 'No Glory Riddim', il secondo volume di 'Riddim Riders' in Free Download su internet, su cui hanno cantato artisti italiani e stranieri (tra cui Khari Kill, Lutan Fyah) e 'Mama Africa Riddim', con la musica suonata da Nitelite e ispirata dalla canzone di Ras Tewelde e Jamafrica 'Mama Africa', di cui è stato prodotto anche il videoclip (Versatile Production). Nell'estate 2010 esce il quarto volume dei riddim dal titolo 'Everywhere I Go', con i singoli di Lion D, Ras Tewelde, Ms Triniti, Dr. Ring Ding, Scaramucci e tanti altri, mentre nell'autunno escono 'Hot Gal Riddim', tratto da una canzone della band ungherese Riddim Colony con i brani dello svedese Million Stylez e degli italiani Miss Linda, Mulinu, Ras Tewelde e Lion D e 'Last Riddim', l'ultimo riddim dell'anno con soli artisti italiani.

Oltre all'attività produttiva i Bizzarri dedicano particolare attenzione alle esibizioni live con la loro band, la Livity Band, con cui registrano i riddim e supportano live i loro artisti (vedi Livity Band Bio) e alle serate in dj set (vedi Bizzarri Sound Bio).

Nel 2011 esce African Herbs Riddim e un altro videoclip di Ras Tewelde in combination con Louie Culture ' You Cyaan Do Dat', ad anticipare il primo album solista di Ras Tewelde, in uscita a maggio 2011. L'album, dal titolo 'One Way Ticket: Rasta at Home and Abroad' contiene anche un brano con il leggendario Sugar Minott,'Mr Squadie' scomparso poco dopo la registrazione.
Nel 2011 esce anche il secondo album di Lion D dal titolo 'Reap What You Sow' e il primo videoclip 'Trendsetta', un rifacimento della celebre 'Hot Stepper' di Ini Kamoze.

BIZZARRI RECORDS - BIOGRAPHY

Bizzarri Records is an Indipendent Label officialy founded in the first half of 2009 by Nick and Leo of Bizzarri Sound, but operating since 2005 in promotion of reggae events in their town, Modena (Italy). They hosted in their studio artists from Jamaica as Jah Mason, Michael Rose, Antony B, Sylford Walker, Abyssinians) and they orgnized dancehall with Kiprich in Bologna, Lone Ranger in Napoli and X.Ray and Vertex in Modena.

In 2007 they started to produce new artists after the meeting with the young Lion D. They produced the first riddim, a remake of Desmond Dekker Israelites, titled Keep The Fyah Burnin’ Riddim, on which Lion D (with the track having the same title) and Jah Mason (with the tune ‘Cryin for peace’), were both published on 45 vinyl. The tracks are also part of the cd KEEP THE FYAH BURNIN’ BIZZARRI RIDDIM VOL1, a compilation realized with the participation of upcoming artists of the Italian reggae scene, as Mulinu, Mighty Cez and many others, following a typically Jamaican way of producing music, in which artists write different songs (text and melody) on the same riddim.

In 2008 Bizzarri Sound dedicate to the production and promotion of two upcoming Italian artists, Lion D and Miss Linda, following them all over Italy both as dj set and with live concerts (Livity Band and Magadog Band). They produced two new riddims, Real Warrior Riddim , played by Magadog Band and Your Smile Riddim played by Livity Band. Both riddims have been published in 7” vinyl, Lion D with ‘You Know That I Love You’ and Miss Linda with ‘Your Smile’.

In 2009 Bizzarri Rec produced Lion D’s first album titled ‘The Burnin Melody’ with two videoclip of the singles ’You Know That I Love You’, shot in 16 mm in Los Angeles with the production of Angel FIlm, and ' Nah Like The Way Deh', shot in Jamaica from an indipendent videomaker . The album contains a featuring with the jamaican singer Lutan Fyah and its singles were played by Irie Fm, 876 Radio in Jamaica and BBC Radio in London, with a good opinion by the critics.

In June they presented two compilations with the collaboration of Rastasnob magazine called ‘Reggae Girls Vol.3’ and ‘Vent’anni di Rastasnob’. Thanks to these two compilations, they can work with the best Italian artists as Sud Sound System, Brusco, Oliver Skardy, Ras Tewelde, Mulinu, Raina, Miss Linda, Lion D and international artists as: Lutan Fyah (Jamaica), Askala Selassie (UK), Miss Lizz (Germany), Auresia (Canada), Onesty (Belgium) and Serengeti (Sweden).

In 2010 they produced two album of the two italian singers (Raina 'Che Colpa ne Ho' and Ginko 'Musica Ribelle') members of one of the first italian crew promoting reggae music from 20 years, 'Villa Ada Crew', with featuring with otthers italian important artist as Sud Sound System, Lion D, Ras Tewelde and the british dj David Rodigan.

Bizzarri coninues producing riddim and in 2010 they give the chance to all the fans to download free from the web their 'Riddim Riders' (this is how they calls their compilation with different artist singing on the same riddim). They produced 'No Glory Riddim' ('Riddim Riders Vol 2' with italian artists and Khari Kill, Lutan Fyah), 'Mama Africa Riddim', with the music played by Nitelite inspired by Ras Tewelde e Jamafrica 'Mama Africa' tune and the big tune of Million Stylez 'Jah is Worthy', 'Everywhere I Go Riddim', with Lion D, Ras Tewelde, Miss Linda, Ms Triniti, Dr. Ring Ding, Scaramucci singles and 'Hot Gal Riddim', from a tune of a reggae band from Hungary called Riddim Colony with Million Stylez, Miss Linda, Mulinu, Ras Tewelde e Lion D.

Bizzarri Sound now is also a recording studio (Bizzarri Studio) based in Modena and a live band (Livity Band), with whom they record riddim and play all over the Europe with their artists (for example for 'The Burnin Melody Tour')

The recent releases are the first album of the conscious singer Ras Tewelde called 'One Way Ticket: Rasta at Home and Abroad' and the secondo album of Lion D 'Reap What You Sow'.
