in Physiological Models

Topics to be covered

• Basic qualitative assessment of dynamical systems solutions.
• Numerical integration of ODE, DDE, SDE.
• Basic discrete and continuous optimization.
• Basic Statistical Estimation Theory: frequentist, bayesian, MCMC, population and hierarchical.
• Approaches to the identification of SDE: ML methods and Kalman filtering.
• Nonlinear Filtering and Observer approaches.
• Statistical Geometrical Structures and their identification.


• Participant presentations will be an integral part of the school.

The last two days of the school will be dedicated to the Workshop Mathematical Modelling of the Glucose/Insulin System and Estimation of Insulin Sensitivity, where we hope to have as guests many of the researchers currently active in the field.

Full local support and a contribution to travel expenses will be granted to up to 50 EC-supported participants.
