I have a new 2011 F150 XLT. Is there anyway to turn off the dome/cab lights?
I have to leave the door open for extended periods sometimes. I can't
find anything in the owners manual. I'd also like to have them not come on
when I open the door or close the door.
Thanks
LK

I'll answer my own question in case you want to know the answer.
According to Ford the only way to disable the dome/cab lights on a 2011
F150 is to connect an OBD and go to options. If there is an option there
"Police Dark Mode" then you can select that and they are disabled. If the option
is not there then "pull the bulbs". This really sucks. You can't disable the lights
on a vehicle you own. They would not say if it was gov't mandated or their idea
but it's a bad idea no matter whose it is.

The lights on my 10 Platinum F150 will go out after 15 minutes or so if the doors are left open. I believe it's to keep from running the battery dead. FWIW...

you could also glue the door switch button down too with super glue that will show it as off
