In the early spring of 2009 White's Electronics introduced the "Spectra Vision" metal detector. The name would later be changed to the "Spectra V3". This was a revolutionary step forward in VLF detecting technology. Developed over a five year period this metal detector boasted several never before seen features, along with more sensitivity and discrimination capability than any of White's previous detectors. The large high resolution color display and wireless headphones were the most obvious improvements.

With a broad range of frequency options and with almost total control of every aspect of the detectors' behavior, this bold step by White's would in short order prove itself by pulling new finds from heavily hunted locations.

With all this technology comes many questions and possibilities. No one individual could at this point encompass the full depth of this detectors' ability. There is very little or no published detailed guide on the Spectra V3. The desire and hope of the American Detectorist Forums is to provide a meeting ground to share and explore the fantastic capabilities of this fine detector.
