Marie Curie Middle School, named after Madame Curie, the renowned scientist and winner of two Nobel Peace Prizes, is located in Bayside, Queens, New York. The Middle School 158Q mission statement for the 2004-2005 school year is as follows: To provide a nurturing, cognitive and social growth environment for all students at Marie Curie Middle School in collaboration with all staff members, families and the community, so that students are prepared to enter society as knowledgeable and caring persons. To enable staff to provide challenging instruction which will encourage students to achieve their maximum potential. To raise moral and ethical awareness for all people regardless of religion, race and ethnicity. To bring students into the 21st century by reflecting real world practices in daily activities in school.
